Lacquered Black is a Tāmaki Makaurau – Auckland, New Zealand grunge, sludge metal, and alternative metal band blending heavy riff-driven sludge metal, 90s-inspired grunge aggression, and underground DIY energy into a raw, high-intensity live sound rooted in modern heavy alternative music.

Formed in Auckland, NZ, Lacquered Black draws influence from the darker and heavier sides of grunge, sludge, and alternative metal, creating a sound combining crushing guitar riffs, powerful vocals, dynamic songwriting, and an intense live performance experience.

The current members of Lacquered Black are

York Tait – Guitar 

Ari Zwitser – Vocals

Sifa Fevaleaki – Bass

Ash Clough – Drums
